About the Author...
My name is Chris Crowder. I first became interested in the Village of Avalon back in the early 1990's. In 2000 my wife and I researched and explored the site. And shortly thereafter this site was born. In 2011, as the 100th annversary of the mill fire neared, the Village of Avalon began haunting me once more. I felt compelled to revamp the site. With much additional research the story has been rewritten and the site has been brought up-to-date.
I live in Madison, North Carolina. Writing and photography are my most keen interests. I've also dabbled in web-design in varying capacities over the past 15 years. I'm restless when in comes to my passions and am open to new projects and ideas. I can be found on Facebook and Google+ at the links below.
